COOLANGATTA, Queensland/AUS (jeudi 16 mars 2017) - The Quiksilver et Roxy Pro Gold Coast a repris hier avec le heat restant du 1er tour hommes et du 2ème tour filles et l’ouverture de la 2ème manche du Round 2 hommes. La compétition a vu les meilleurs surfeurs du monde s'affronter sur le premier événement de la tournée australienne dans des vagues propres de trois à cinq pieds 1 (1,5 mètre) .
Les Champions WSL ont gagné leur Heather à Snapper Rocks dans le Round 1 ,John John Florence (HAW), Gabriel Medina (BRA), Mick Fanning (AUS), Joel Parkinson (AUS), Adriano de Souza (BRA) et Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) et le Round 2 victoires de Tyler Wright (AUS) et Kelly Slater (USA).
